Author—Marielle Rebbechi

Marielle was born and raised in Wangaratta, a country town in southeast Australia. At university she studied business, and later literature and film.

In 2012, she founded Cereal Readers, an online resource designed to help families and educators navigate children’s book series with confidence. Now used by readers around the world, the site reflects her long-standing interest in the role of series fiction in developing reading fluency, independence, and lasting engagement.

Her own stories are shaped by that belief—featuring resilient, engaging characters and character-driven adventures for young readers ready to grow in confidence.

Marielle has spent extended time in France and now lives in the United States.

Benjamin Bookmark came to life after many fruitless searches for her son’s bookmarks amongst the bedcovers.

IllustratorTrish Heully

Trish fell in love with children’s books as a school teacher in her home country of New Zealand. When she moved to the U.S., she returned to school to study illustration. Her work is populated by children, mice, bunnies, bugs—and bookmarks!— busy on their adventures.

She works in both traditional and digital mediums, and particularly loves using watercolor. Trish’s talent and whimsical humor are perfect for early chapter books, as she captures expression and character in just a few pen strokes.

You can explore more of Trish’s engaging work on her website: trishheully.com

Trish lives in southern California, close to her children and grandchildren.
